Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made from titanium that have proved effective for over 30 years. The dental implant will be anchored into your jaw bone, on top of which your dentist will place the new crown and bridge or a removable denture.

We can ensure you that no one will notice the difference from your natural teeth; not even you yourself! Not only will your new implants strengthen your chewing ability, but will also reinforce your jaw bone. Your facial proportions and shape will be maintained, thus keeping your youthful appearance.

Having dental implants will not only benefit your health and your appearance, even more: Scientific studies have proven that having non removable prosthetic restaurations can increase your life expectancy by up to 7 years!
The durability of the dental implant is reliant on the type of implant chosen.

We use only dental implants that heal in at the level of the bone crest, ensuring durability and stability. These new dental implants are advantageous when compared to conventional implants, as upon healing the previous implants left a slightly defected bone crest from the very beginning. On top of the inserted dental implant, the mucous membrane is closed around the new tooth implant to guarantee full recovery of the bone.

After the healing period, you will be required to return to us once more for one further simple procedure to prepare your implant for further care from your dentist. We will happily work together with the dentist of your choice. Your dentist can also choose to work with the implant manufacturer with whom they have most experience.

We currently have dental implants from the following manufacturers at our disposal:

  • Nobel Biocare
  • Astra
  • Straumann
  • Dentsply/Ankylos
  • Camlog

There are a few important things for you to note before your tooth implant is implemented:

Ideally, the diseased tooth should be removed by the surgeon who will later insert your dental implant.

For further information on this topic, please read the tooth extraction section of our website.

If your jaw bone is thinner or lower than required, we would need to build up your jaw in the specific area before embedding the dental implants. For further information on these procedures, please read the bone grafting section of our website.

Location

Like all the surgical operations that we offer, dental implantations will be carried out in our clinic here in Munich, on Cuvilliésstraße.

Anaesthetic

Dental implants can be implemented under local anaesthesia, half sleep (premedication/sedation) or under general anaesthesia.

Post-operation

Generally, dental implants are well tolerated. During the healing process, we will organise the temporary restoration together with your dentist for you.

For your convenience, we are not only contactable during our surgery hours, but are also reachable via mobile phone, 24 hours a day.

The stitches will be removed one week after the dental implantation.
